Hire an MPP Co-op Student

As a long-standing and integrated component of the Masters program, the MPP Co-op work term occurs in the summer term between Year 1 and 2, involving a cohort of 30 to 35 students. The job posting and recruitment period begins in mid-January each year, and continues until late April, with most MPP students beginning their Co-op terms in early to mid-May.  Co-op terms last 12 to 16 weeks, with payrates ranging from $23 to $28 per hour.

A wide variety of policy areas and issues interest and inspire students who want to apply their skill set in a practical context and gain experience working with federal, provincial, municipal and Indigenous government, civil society and not for profit organizations, private sector, labour unions and research institutes.  Wage subsidy funding programs are available to qualifying organizations to support student hiring.

See MPP Co-op Employer Infosheet for program information, job posting details and timelines.
