Emeritus Professor Anthony Arrott Featured in Documentary "Portrait"

¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Professor Emeritus and condensed matter physicist Tony Arrott has been featured in a documentary released by Dog Door Films on August 25, 2020.  

The documentary is about Tony and his motivations and passions of a life devoted to the advancement of science, and his late wife, Patricia Graham Arrott and her drawings. After Patsy passed away in Vancouver on March 9, 2016, Tony put on an exhibit of her art at the Gage Academy of Arts in Seattle in 2017. When the exhibit closed he brought the exhibit home to his Vancouver apartment and has about half of the drawings on display. Amongst his late wife's art, Tony continues his life’s work, research in the field of magnetism

Summary
91-year-old American-born Canadian physicist Anthony S. Arrott spends his days alone in his Vancouver apartment, continuing to work on his research in the field of magnetism. He lives surrounded by the hundreds of faces drawn by his late wife, New York City- and Vancouver-based portrait artist Patricia Graham Arrott. Dr. Arrott is filmed over the course of a five-month period by first-time filmmakers Lily Ekimian (Arrott’s granddaughter) and A.T. Ragheb. Dr. Arrott works hard to finish his work as he reflects on his life and marriage in this intimate portrait.
