Shallow donor defects in ZnO as qubits
Nov 19, 2019 at 1PM
Synopsis
Defects in crystals are leading candidates for photon-based quantum technologies, but the development of practical devices critically depends on improving defect optical and spin properties. We have recently shown all-optical control of the electron spin state of ensembles of donor qubits in ZnO and measured their spin coherence properties. This talk will review these developments and discuss current progress toward single donor isolation and direct microwave control of these qubits.
