With the Higgs into the dark
Jan 18, 2019 at 2:30PM
Synopsis
The discovery of the Higgs boson at the Large Hadron Collider marks the culmination of a decades-long hunt for the last ingredient of the Standard Model (SM). At the same time, this discovery has started a new era in the search for more fundamental physics. In this colloquium, I will discuss the role of the Higgs boson in shedding light on New Physics beyond the SM, and motivate new searches and new experiments that can reveal otherwise undetected new phenomena. Particularly, I will highlight the prospects for unveiling the nature of Dark Matter, using the Higgs boson.
