Synopsis

The peak in the isothermal M(H) of a high temperature superconductor above the perfect diamagnetic state is referred to as the second magnetization peak (SMP) and is an interesting and widely studied subject. Although the reason for SMP is known in various compounds such as crossover in pinning mechanism, order-disorder transition, vortex-lattice phase transitions, the fundamental questions still remains: why is the SMP absents in some samples? Here, I will discuss about the behaviour of SMP in a 122 pnictide superconductor, which is studied using the magnetic relaxation measurements.
