Facilities
The INN's neuroscience and neurotechnology research labs make state-of-the-art equipment available to the university research community for clinical and research applications. Equipment include:
275-channel Magnetoencephalography (MEG)
MEG measures neurophysiological activity and brain network communication with a uniquely good combination of spatial resolution and timing accuracy.

3T Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Provides high-resolution imaging of brain structure and function.

Electroencephalography (EEG)
EEG measures the electrical activity of the brain.
Non-invasive brain stimulators (e.g. TMS, TDCS, TACS, GVS)
Non-invasive brain stimulators use magnetic or electrical stimulation to alter brain areas for the purposes of understanding brain function, treating neurological disorders, or enhancing motor learning.
Motion capture cameras
Motion capture cameras measure the three-dimensional position of the body in space during a variety of motor tasks.
Eye trackers
Eye trackers record the position of the eye and our line of sight (i.e., gaze) for the purpose of understanding how we visually sample the world.
Electromyography (EMG)
EMG records the electrical activity of muscles
Microscopy facilities
Microscopy facilities include laser scanning and spinning disk confocal microscopes for high-resolution and live-cell imaging.
Voltage clamp electrophysiology
Measures the ionic currents that cause neurons to be electrically excitable.
Proteomics
Proteomics udentify the complement of proteins, or protein modifications, in human cultered cells or model systems.
Genomics and bioinformatics
DNA sequencing and other facilities allow us to identify normal or disease-associated signatures in genomes.
Mouse and tissue culture
Facilities for the functional analyses of isolated cells.
Rodent behavioural testing
Equipment for assessing cognition, sleep and circadian rhythms including touchscreen cognitive testing, light and sound-attenuated chambers, and a variety of mazes. Includes a fully equipped surgery room.
Pharmaco-genetic screening
High-throughput identification of small molecules or genes implicated in human health or disease.
