INN Welcomes Dr. Ravi Menon to its Advisory Committee

The Institute for Neuroscience and Neurotechnology (INN) is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Ravi Menon to its Advisory Committee.  A globally recognized expert in medical imaging and neuroscience, Dr. Menon brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the Institutes vision of an integrative approach to supporting brain resilience that is comprehensive, individualized, and accessible for all Canadians.

Dr. Menon is a Professor of Medical Biophysics and Medical Imaging at Western University and a member of both the Graduate Program in Neuroscience and the Graduate Program in Biomedical Engineering. As the founder and Scientific Director of Westerns Centre for Functional and Metabolic Mapping (CFMM), Canadas national ultra-high field MRI facility, Dr. Menon has been instrumental in advancing ultra-high field MRI techniques for structural and functional imaging, particularly in the neurosciences.

A Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, as well as a Senior Fellow of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, Dr. Menons advisory expertise spans multiple high-impact organizations, including serving on the Board of Scientific Counselors of the National Institute of Mental Health/NIH, the Canada Gairdner Foundation prize panel, and as a Director on the Board of the Brain Canada Foundation.

We are thrilled to welcome Ravi to the INN, said Dr. Randy McIntosh,  Director of the INN and the BC Leadership Chair, Neuroscience and Technology Translation Across the Lifespan. His  commitment to advancing neuroscience will be invaluable as we continue to pursue personalized mental health and dementia care.

Dr. Menon shared his enthusiasm for joining the board: I am honored to join the 間眅埶AV Institute Neuroscience and Neurotechnology at such an exciting time in its development. With the TheVirtualBrain international collaboration as its foundation, I anticipate significant breakthroughs in the understanding human brain networks and the application to new approaches to treating brain diseases and disorder. I look forward to working with the board to support these exciting opportunities.
