Biography

Natalie Goulter, Ph.D., is a University Research Associate and Adjunct Professor within the Department of Psychology at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, Canada. She received her M.Sc. in Psychology at the University of Otago, New Zealand, under the supervision of Professor Michael Colombo, and her Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of New South Wales, Australia, under the supervision of Professor Eva Kimonis. After her Ph.D., she completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship collaborating with Professor Robert McMahon (Director: Institute for the Reduction of Youth Violence) and Professor Marlene Moretti (Director: Adolescent Health Lab) at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV.

Dr. Goulter’s program of research focuses on the development of externalizing psychopathology and callous-unemotional traits (i.e., deficient affect, callous lack of empathy, reduced affiliative capacity) during childhood and adolescence from a biopsychosocial perspective. Specifically, she is interested in: a) environmental risk and protective factors; b) biological mechanisms with a focus on endocrine and physiological indices; c) emotion processing and social cognition factors; and d) prevention interventions.
