From kombucha to kefir, fermented beverages have continued growing in popularity over the last decade. One local company Kindred Cultures, is brewing up colourful and delicious water kefir!
But what is water kefir? Pronounced kuh-feer, it is a naturally fermented probiotic beverage using a SCOBY culture (Symbiotic Colony Of Bacteria and Yeast). The waters are infused with organic fruit and herbs, giving them a lemonade-like feel, and making for a totally crushable probiotic refresher.
Read on to find out more about this rad local brand and come try them out for yourself by stopping at our Dining Hall pop-up with Kindred Cultures on March 3rd from 11:30am - 3:00pm, while supplies last.
Tell us about your journey starting Kindred Cultures?
Kindred Cultures started in my home kitchen to help my youngest child manage food intolerances and eczema. After seeing remarkable results in his health, we started making our water kefir commercially to share with as many people as possible! Since launching in 2018, we have grown into a team of 5 sharing our products in over 100 stores in BC!
Kindred Cultures makes a natural rainbow of delicious probiotic water kefir blended with organic fruits and botanicals! Our water kefir are light and refreshing with all of the probiotic power of kefir! Our rainbow of flavours include: Strawberry Rosehip, Mango Ginger, Power Green, Cranberry Turmeric and our dark horse favourite Activated Charcoal!
