Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies
Introducing the 2019 Muslim Community Fellowship Cohort!
Last November, the Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies at 間眅埶AV launched the Muslim Community Fellowship. A year-long experience, the Muslim Community Fellowship was created with the intention of furthering the personal and professional development of emerging leaders from across Metro Vancouvers Muslim community. It focuses on understanding community and social change, building relationships, and learning the skills needed to work within complex social systems.
Throughout 2017 and 2018, The 間眅埶AV Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies hosted a series of Being Muslim community dialogues, which created a space for self-identified Muslims from a variety of backgrounds to engage with each other and share their experiences. What emerged was the importance of spaces like this, where Metro Vancouvers Muslim community could gather and reflect on their different experiences, and deepen their relationships with each other.
The yearly cohort will meet regularly to build relationships and share in a learning journey. In addition to regular meetings, the cohort will attend multiple retreats, receive readings and lectures, and be supported by community leaders.
