About Ergonomics
Whether you are currently enrolled in our certificate program or simply curious to learn more about the field here is an introduction to Ergonomics— otherwise known as Human Factors. As a scientific discipline Ergonomics explores the understanding of interactions between humans and their environments. As a field it applies theory, principles, data, and methods of design to optimize human well-being and performance.
There are three domains of Ergonomics:
- Cognitive: explores perception, memory, reasoning and motor response
- Physical: concerned with human anatomy, physiology, anthropometrics and biomechanics
- Organizational: understanding partcipation, cooperation, socio-technical systems and the environment

ACE is continously looking for motivated students to join their organization. In addition to building strong interpersonal connections, this opportunity enables stduents to help ACE fulfill its mission and meet its goal by contributing to improve local and wide-scale Human Factors and Ergonomics as a community.

Industry 4.0
The fourth industrial revolution, also known as Industry 4.0 refers to the rapid and revolutionary manner in which society has altered their manafacturing, techonological and social structures in the 21st-century. With credit due to increased social connectivity and automation, Industry 4.0 and Human Factors are both of prevlance in the modern world. As technology advances we must work with synergy to ensure machines work in conjunction with us to optimize work. Linked below is an article expanding on Industry 4.0 and its relation to the future of the field of Ergonomics.
