ExNovo: Using the cognitive science of learning and attention to create a UI that scaffolds novice performance while staying out of the expert's way.

In the cognitive science lab we study the dynamics of learning and attention. In the present work we envision a new computer UI, called ExNovo. I will discuss three videogame-like experiments we used to test ExNovo’s speed and scalability, its accessibility benefits, and its applications to alternate computing embodiments such as VR.
