Sustainability Research Intersections: Exploring Climate Solutions
February 23, 2023
Advancing Community Centred Climate Innovation is one of the key priority areas identified in the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV's Strategic Research Plan for 2023 - 2028. As mentioned in the SRP "¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s approach includes developing solutions at the community and regional level, followed by sharing and scaling those solutions to make impacts globally. With research strengths that span all of the relevant disciplines, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV is well-positioned to take on these challenges. This priority area—community-centred climate innovation—engages our researchers with all levels of government, industry and community members".
¶¡ÏãÔ°AV (¶¡ÏãÔ°AV) has an active Climate Change Research and Energy Solutions Programs. Areas of research include greenhouse gas mitigation and sustainable energy systems (EMRG), climate change impacts (CCIRC), adaptation on climate team (ACT) and alternative energy solutions with the Mechatronic Systems Engineering (MSE) Program, the Human-Centered Systems for Sustainable Living and the Climate, the School of Sustainable Energy Engineering (SEE) among others.
¶¡ÏãÔ°AV is also a founding member of the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS). As a founding member, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV researchers are well positioned to contribute to the development of innovative climate change solutions, seek new opportunities for positive adaptation to climate change, and lead the way to a vibrant low carbon economy in BC and globally.
