Being a Muslim Newcomer
In partnership with ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV International, CCMS hosted a community dialogue on 26 September aimed at exploring the intersections between the Muslim and Newcomer experiences in Vancouver.
The context of where people moved from, when they moved, when they choose to show their Muslim identity, the inescapable discrimination felt when showing themselves as Muslim and newcomers, but the simultaneous resilience and pride that comes from belonging to a global community and having a faith to draw from were just some of the many beautiful layers that were shared.
