Farinaz Rikhtehgaran, M.A. (she/her)
Farinaz obtained a Master's degree in Urban Design from the University of Tehran, and is currently pursuing a second Master's degree in the Department of Gerontology within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Her research interests lie in the realm of environmental gerontology, with a specific focus on age-friendly cities.
Hailey-Thomas Jenkins, Ph.D. Candidate (she/her)
Hailey-Thomas Jenkins is currently a PhD student in the Department of Gerontology at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Health Sciences and a minor in Gerontology. Her research interests include aging, disability, and accessibility within the built environment.
Bahareh Kardeh, M.D. (she/her)
Bahareh Kardeh holds a Doctor of Medicine Degree from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Shiraz, Iran. She has four years of experience in-patient care and ten years in qualitative and quantitative research. Her research interests include aging, disabilities, and assistive technology.

Mike Prescott is a postdoctoral research fellow in Geomatics at Laval University and Gerontology at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. He received his Doctor of Philosophy in Rehabilitation Sciences (Ph.D.) from the University of British Columbia in 2021. His research interests are focused on the mobility of people with disabilities in their community and in both how people navigate and the policies and practices that impact them.
Undergraduate Research Assistants
Alison Chung, B.A., Hons (she/her)
Alison Chung graduated from ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the Department of Psychology. She is currently a Master of Science in Clinical Neuropsychology Candidate at the University of Victoria. Alison's research interests revolve around neuropsychology, neurodegenerative disorders and diseases as well as cognition in aging.
Juanita Mora, B.Sc. (she/her)
Juanita Mora holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Faculty of Health Sciences Life Science Stream at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. She is pursuing a Master in Public Health from the Andalusian School of Public Health University and EHESP School of Public Health. Her research interests include the elderly population, ranging from accessibility, equitable and targeted healthcare to the barriers they experience in the built environment.

Chris Ngo is a Bachelor of Arts Candidate in the Faculty of Health Sciences at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. His research interests include aging, disabilities, accessibility, social housing and services.
Mohammadreza Mirbastegan, B.Sc. Candidate (he/him)
Reza is a student in the Faculty of Health Sciences, working towards completing his Bachelor of Science degree. With prior experience as a research assistant, his interests lie in personalized medicine, specifically finding solutions to reduce wait times for healthcare services for people with disabilities.
Aislynn Sharrock, B.A. Hons (she/her)
Aislynn earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the Department of Psychology with a Minor in Gerontology. Her research focus in gerontology centers on comprehending the mental health and overall well-being of older adults living in the community, which she gained insight into from her position in an Adult Day Program.
Jennifer Wu, B.A. (she/her)
Jennifer graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in the Faculty of Health Sciences at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV. Her research interests lie in environmental health from a public health perspective, including the built environment and its effects on health and aging.

Shruti is currently a student at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV majoring in Resource and Environmental Management. Her research interests lie in understanding how cities can be built to be more inclusive in terms of accessibility and affordability.

Isaac is a visiting undergraduate research assistant from the University of California San Diego. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies and Planning. Isaac’s research interests are focused on fostering positive and inclusive human interactions in the built environment through the realms of transportation planning, universal design, and community empowerment.
