Course Access Information and Grade Requirements
Information About Access to Business Courses
Lower Division Business Course Enrollment Restrictions
Students other than those accepted into a program in business may enroll in lower division business courses, except for the following courses, which are reserved for students in a business program and do not open at any time: BUS 201, BUS 202, BUS 203, and BUS 217W.
Approved business major students must successfully complete BUS 201 or BUS 202 with a minimum grade of C-, and BUS 203 with a P grade, within their first enrolled term, subject to course offerings. Students who do not complete the courses within their first term will be blocked from enrolling into further 200-level business courses.
Upper Division Business Course Enrollment Restrictions
Students other than those accepted into a program in business may enroll in selected 300 and 400 division business courses from the day before the term begins until the end of the first week of classes, contingent upon:
- space available in the course during the period indicated
- meeting all prerequisites for the course
Enrollment in BUS 300, BUS 360W, and BUS 496 is limited to students who are in a business major, joint major, honours, or joint honours program, or as indicated below.
Business Minor Students
Only students admitted to the business minor will be permitted to enroll in upper division business minor courses (BUS 311, BUS 340, BUS 341, and BUS 401).
Actuarial Science Students
Actuarial science majors and honours students have access to BUS 217W, BUS 312, BUS 315, and BUS 316.
Data Science Students
Data science majors and honours students have access to BUS 217W, BUS 343, BUS 360W, BUS 439, and BUS 445.
Certificate in Corporate Environmental and Social Sustainability
Students in the certificate in corporate environmental and social sustainability program have access to BUS 303, BUS 393, BUS 449, BUS 453, BUS 475, and BUS 489.
Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Students in the certificate in innovation and entrepreneurship program have access to BUS 314, BUS 338, BUS 339, BUS 361, BUS 406, BUS 443, BUS 450, BUS 453, BUS 476, and BUS 477.
Grade Requirements
In addition to normal university grade point average requirements, the Beedie School of Business requires a minimum 2.30 overall 間眅埶AV Business course grade point average for entry into all 300 and 400 division business courses, except for the 300 and 400 division Business Minor courses, which require a minimum 間眅埶AV Business course grade point average of 2.00.
For a course to be accepted as fulfilling a prerequisite, or for a lower division requirement, or for a core course to be accepted in a student's program in business, a student must have obtained a minimum grade of C- (C minus).
A minimum 2.30 overall 間眅埶AV Business course grade point average is required for graduation from a Business major, joint major, or double degree program.
A minimum grade point average of 2.00 calculated on all courses applied towards the certificate is required for graduation from a business certificate.
A minimum grade point average of 2.00 calculated on all courses applied towards the minor is required for graduation from a business minor program.

However, the ultimate responsibility for completeness and correctness of course selection, for compliance with and completion of program and degree requirements and for observance of regulations and deadlines rests with the student.
