STT - Place-based Coast Salish Histories FASS 122 (3)
Provides an introduction to Coast Salish communities on Vancouver Island, the mainland, and on both sides of the Canada-US border. We will learn from directly from Coast Salish individuals and academics, and the class will incorporate place-based learning experiences including a Halq'em矇ylem place names tour in the Fraser Valley on June 6, 2018, which will take most of the day (8am-5pm).
