Program Requirements
A minimum of 2.0 average (GPA) is calculated on all 間眅埶AV courses that are applied to the minor.
Depending upon the point of entry, the necessary lower division prerequisites must be fulfilled.
- If grade 12. students must take FREN 210 Intermediate French I (3).
- If A in grade 12. students can take FREN 211 Intermediate French II (3).
- If Immersion, students can choose between FREN 212 French for Immersion Students (3) or FREN 211 Intermediate French II (3).
- If you are deemed a "native speaker", or eguivalent, you cannot take FREN 215 (3) or FREN 217 (3) or FREN 300 (3); instead you must take one other 300 or 400 level course.

Upper Division Units
A minimum of 15 upper division units is required, 9 of which must be taken within the department.
Course Exemptions
It is possible to obtain exemption, up to a maximum of 12 units, from the lower division French language courses by being placed in a more advanced French language course (Placement Test). Students who gain, or hope to gain, course exemption should consult the advisor early.
Transfer Credits
Approved credits for French courses completed at another post-secondary institution (subject to University transfer credit regulations) up to a maximum of six units.
