Through studies of theories, allied empirical research, methods of inquiry and professional practice, the program provides a foundation of knowledge across fundamental areas of educational psychology.

See graduate general regulation 1.3 for University admission requirements. In exceptional circumstances, applicants who do not meet these requirements may be considered if superior scholarly or professional achievement is demonstrated.
Graduate education admission is granted to a specific degree and to a particular program or specialization. Updated application information is available beginning November 15 from the . All applications are reviewed once a year. Completed applications must be received by January 31.
Program Requirements
Students complete all of the following required courses:
- EDUC 805-3 Social Development in the School Context
- EDUC 810-3 Methods of Inquiry in Education Psychology
- EDUC 826-3 The Neurobiology of Language and Reading Development
- EDUC 828-3 Instructional Practices for Inclusive Classrooms
- EDUC 829-3 Contemporary Issues in Learning Disabilities
- EDUC 842-3 Sociocultural Perspectives on the Psychology of Development and Education
- EDUC 860-3 Contemporary Theory and Research in Educational Psychology
- EDUC 863-3 Quantitative Methods in Educational Research
- EDUC 876-3 Cognitive Intervention Research
- EDUC 970-3 Systems and Paradigms in Education Psychology
In addition to the required courses above, MA students complete
- EDUC 898-10 Master's Thesis
Transfer Credit
Students may apply for transfer credit if graduate course work completed at another institution duplicates courses in this program.
