COMMENTARY
1. Very quiet ambient level, a few cars passing; churchbell in clear foreground. Distant horse whinnies toward end (closely followed by car starting up).
2. The power transformer was 200 yards or so out of town by the roadside. Brook in distance.
3. Recordist moves closer to hum. Note how the engine of the second car causes a momentary beat effect against the power hum.
4-5. considerable mic noise.
6-7. Typical of recording of sound environments in a moving vehicle, this is not easily recognized as such (probably due to habituation; also possibly because one doesn't see the landscape pass).
9. Pipes seem to be improvising, interesting primitive quality to the sound.
10. Nice take: band approaching from distance, passing close by, and going off into distance.
11. Lots of wind in mic.
12. Band further in distance, other sounds in foreground, wind in mic.
