D. Keller - touch'n'go: Ecological Models in Composition

Abstract

³Ù´Ç³Ü³¦³ó’n’g´Ç is a fifty-minute tape and text piece, published as an enhanced compact disc, and as a custom CD-ROM. The CD-ROM includes the eleven sections of the piece, short Spanish and English texts - in HyperText Language Markup format - for each section, Csound code used to produce the sound material with most of the necessary samples. ³Ù´Ç³Ü³¦³ó’n’g´Ç is the first attempt to apply an ecological approach in composition. This approach draws from soundscape techniques, physical models, and ecological models, expanding the existing palette of tools for synthesis and transformation of everyday sounds.
