The Sensorimotor Neuroscience Lab is interested in how we use vision to navigate the world, how the brain adapts and learns to ensure accurate movement, and how the nervous system integrates different sources of sensory information (e.g., vision, vestibular, and somatosensory) to control movement under a variety of contexts. Our main focus relates to how the brain uses what it sees to move. We study healthy adults and individuals with neurological disorders or eye diseases. Through our research, we aim to (1) advance the understanding of human behaviour and the neural control of movement and (2) discover new strategies to improve balance and mobility, reduce falls, and increase quality of life in individuals with neurological and/or visual impairments.
