The Sierra Wireless Mobile Communications Laboratory was founded in 2012 by donation from Sierra Wireless (now Semtech), an IoT company in Richmond, B.C., Canada. Under the leadership of Professor Rodney Vaughan, the team conducts research on radio, MIMO communications, antenna theory and design, and acoustic signal processing. Utilizing the lab鈥檚 world-class spherical and planar antenna pattern measurement chambers, the SWMCL has collaborated with the research community as well as with industry partners in fields from microwave food processing to satellite communications.

Lab Facilities
