Lab Director: Dr. Rebecca Cobb

Clinical psychologist Rebecca Cobb, a professor in ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV’s Department of Psychology, is deeply interested in discovering how romantic relationships develop and change over time. She is exploring how couples communicate about intimate issues in their sexual relationships—an emerging area of study in the field of psychology. Cobb began studying relationships during her undergraduate years at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV, and she completed an MA and PhD in clinical psychology at University of California, Los Angeles. She shares practical aspects of her research in workshops that teach people better ways to discuss relationship issues and how to make good relationship and sexual decisions. In a new project, she is comparing undergraduate students who participate in a workshop to those who don’t, to learn whether relationship knowledge and skills make a difference in their romantic partnerships.
