BC BUILDS: A CASE STUDY

Leveraging under-utilized land and facilitating strategic partnerships to accelerate housing development

How can we form partnerships to build excellent housing for our communities quickly?

In just one year, BC Builds has 17 projects approved to deliver nearly 1,400 homes, with five of them already under construction.

How do they do it?

We’ve put together a case study about BC Builds, a rental housing supply program at BC Housing that is delivering new homes for middle-income working people, and its remarkable success at moving projects from idea to construction quickly.

The case study features:

✅ A comprehensive overview of BC Builds and its first year of implementation

✅ Best practices and key characteristics for program implementation

✅ Recommendations for all levels of government, including First Nations, interested in replicating or adapting components of BC Builds to fit their context
