ADDL Welcomes New Grad Students, Congratulates Graduating Student
The Autism and Developmental Disabilities Lab welcomes two new graduate students for September 2020, Marisa Mylett and Troy Boucher! Both Marisa and Troy completed their Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degrees at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV in 2018. Marisa's research interests involve ADHD and gender differences in developmental disabilities during childhood, and will work under the supervision of Dr. Iarocci in the Clinical Psychology Master of Arts program. Troy will also begin the Clinical Psychology Master of Arts program, continuing his work with Dr. Iarocci with whom he completed his undergraduate thesis. Troy plans on researching special interests and social competency in children with and without a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Both Marisa and Troy are funded by the and look forward to beginning their graduate studies with the ADDL!

We would also like to congratulate Dr. Mandeep Kaur on successfully defending her doctoral thesis and for convocating in June 2020! Mandeep's thesis project was titled Parent-child play interaction in Autism Spectrum Disorder: Emotion regulation within the context of a frustrating situation. She examined how frustrating situations influence parent-child interactions when the child has or does not have a diagnosis of autism, parent-child discussions of emotional vignettes and how parent-child behaviors can impact the child’s social and mental health. We wish Mandeep the very best!
