On October 11th, 2021, Stewart Prest spoke to 980 CKNW about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's holiday to Tofino, B.C. on Canada's first Truth and Reconciliation Day. Prime Minister Trudeau apologized for taking a vacation on this day, and Prest discussed whether the prime minister's apologies were starting to lose their value. He examined what seemed to be a pattern in terms of lapses in judgement on Trudeau's part.

The discussion continued as Prest spoke about political apologies in general by such figures as former U.S. President Bill Clinton, and refusals to apologize by another former U.S. president, Donald Trump.
