Synopsis

Complex systems, a fundamental concept in physics, encompass interconnected components whose interactions give rise to emergent behavior. This notion extends seamlessly to network science, where networks, composed of nodes and edges, serve as a paradigmatic example of complex systems. In this talk, we'll explore how principles from physics and complex systems analysis elucidate the dynamics of network growth. Specifically, we'll investigate the role of influential individuals, colloquially referred to as 'big shots', in shaping network expansion. By intertwining physics with network science not only enhances our comprehension of network evolution but also underscores the synergy between these interdisciplinary domains.
