Synopsis

For almost a century, physicists have been in pursuit of the "Theory of Everything," a unifying framework that would reconcile quantum field theory with the theory of gravity. However, it seems that there are major obstacles. There is another approach to this challenge, proposed by Gerard ‘t Hoof in 2017, which I will express in this presentation. He argues that at first, we must specify what we expect from the “Theory of Everything” and which of the existing theories contradicts these expectations. Finally, he concludes that the concept of “Free Will” could not be accommodated in our theory, and this point forces us to reconsider our understanding of Quantum Mechanics.
