The Math Catchers Outreach Program visited the Coast Salish territory in Richmond B.C. Dr. Veselin Jungic and Lindsay Clifton went to Diefenbaker Elementary Schoolwhere we had the chance to interact with 3 classes from grade 2-4. It is always wonderful to see the students get involved and excited with our workshop. We always try to include every student by encouraging the students to take turns in answering our math puzzles and we also give the students who have not answered a math puzzle a chance before we ask someone who has already. The students were amazed by the mobius strips and where happy to know they could keep them. The students also had a fantastic time playing with our math toys and they loved climbing in the big connect balls. Hopefully we gave the students a new experience with math and they had fun. It was magnificent to meet all the teachers and students at Diefenbaker Elementary School. We would like to thank Keara Reade for inviting us to visit your school. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in your school. (LC)
