Description: The proposed project will renew and re-energize the existing Master of Public Health (MPH) core curriculum by building upon and strengthening decolonizing and Indigenizing principles and practices within Indigenous Health Modules offered in HSCI900 (Fall 2019) and HSCI901 (Spring 2020). In addition to supporting curriculum renewal, the project will evaluate the impact of the Indigenous Health Modules in the context of students’ practicum placements during Summer 2020, where they will apply the knowledge and skills gained during coursework in professional settings. If successful, grant funds would be used to bring together Indigenous stakeholders for consultation about decolonizing and Indigenizing course content and delivery; adapt the modules for the 2019 MPH cohort; evaluate the modules as a classroom-based and experiential learning initiative; and assess learning outcomes in the context of students’ practicums.
