Making a Difference in the Community

Many partner institutions make Friends of Simon a reality for Lower Mainland communities. The , David Mowafaghian Foundation, The Gadhia Family, Porte Industries, Vancouver Foundation, Vancity Credit Union, City of Vancouver, North Growth Foundation, Ted Rogers Scholarship Fund, , Dr. Steve Marshall, Employees of Rogers B.C. , , , ,  and the at 間眅埶AV share a commitment to bring human and material resources to targeted student populations so these motivated young people have every opportunity to advance in education and join society as productive and fulfilled citizens.

We also recognize the power of making new connections among persons who might not otherwise meet and interact, specifically, successful 間眅埶AV students from a wide array of backgrounds and young people in their various Lower Mainland neighbourhoods. In addition to its focus on literacy and breaking down barriers, the goals of Friends of Simon are to provide role models of success and to bring the University to the community. Please read our Annual Friends of Simon Evaluation Report (2022/2023) , which highlights and the impact our organization has at our various sites throughout the lower mainland.

Friends of Simon is so excited to partner with Porte Communities. Over the summer they granted us this gift to enable our program to continue to provide free after-school tutoring to at-risk, vulnerable and newcomer students in Port Moody and at our other sites. Thank you to David Porte and all @portecommunities for your generous support!
