Celebrating the opening of "Brother" at the VIFF

On October 1st, 2022, a Vancouver audience watched the film version of David Chariandy's novel, . The Vancouver Playhouse screening of director Clement Virgo's movie evoked powerful reactions from the audience who at times laughed, gasped, and shed tears. The film ended with a standing ovation followed by a Q & A with Virgo, Chariandy, and others involved in the production.
A reception at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV's Djavad Mowafaghian World Art Centre followed the screening. ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV English students and faculty attended the event, as well as many others. Ebony Magnus, head of ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV's Belzberg Library planned this great event.
