Our 4-week program focuses on learning English inside and outside of the classroom. You will immerse yourself in English conversation and practise real, everyday English instead of learning from a textbook. You will learn speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, and explore Canadian culture. Plus, you will go on field trips to practise your English out in the community and learn more about life in Canada.

Each week, you will study six subjects, each with a different instructor.
Gain an understanding of Canadian culture by exploring Canada鈥檚 geography, history, government, social structure and current events. You will learn how to watch, interpret, discuss and respond to what Canadians are saying, which will help you to analyze the cultural background of any country.
The English slang and expressions used in popular media, music and daily conversations can be hard for students to understand. In this course, you will learn to understand not only what people are saying, but also how and why they choose their words and expressions for various situations.
Leave the classroom and practise your English skills in the real world.
Your instructors will lead these trips out into the community during class time. To make the most of the experience, we encourage you to ask questions before, during and after each trip. Outings will change with each program.
Common trip examples:
- A visit to the BC law courts
- A tour of the Vancouver Art Gallery
- A visit to a local television station
- A nature walk through Stanley Park
- A scavenger hunt at Granville Island
In our 4-week program, we offer 7 levels that are designed to challenge your English skills as you improve. You are welcome to take a single term or multiple terms. As you successfully complete each term, you can progress to the next language level.
Which language level is right for you?
On your first day in the program, you will take a language placement test to determine which level of class you should take.
