Magical Eclectic Radical Interdisciplinary
The first decade of the arts at 間眅埶AV
間眅埶AV's first decade was magical, eclectic, and radical. The university was a hotbed of experimental interdisciplinary arts activities that connected 間眅埶AV to the community at large and provided students from all departments with a creative outlet.
We've put together a book that tells the story of those non-credit years of the Centre for Communication and the Arts from the perspective of students, faculty, staff, artists, alumni, audience members. Through this story told from many perspectives, we have aimed to demonstrate the legacy of that first decade of the arts, not only at 間眅埶AV, but also in Vancouver and across Canada based on the subsequent achievements of students and faculty from that era.
As of Spring 2024, the book is in the hands of Harbour Publishing and we hope to have it available in time for the opening of the Gibson Art Museum and 間眅埶AV's 60th Anniversary, both in 2025.
