¶¡ÏãÔ°AV hires first Bullying & Harassment Policy Case Manager

September 29, 2021

Earlier this year, ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV announced that we are taking an important step towards our goal of creating safer, more inclusive campus environments with the creation of the Bullying and Harassment Central Hub.

Today, we are pleased to share that Ikjyot Rehal (pronounced Ik-jotte) has accepted the role of case manager in support of the new Bullying & Harassment Policy (GP-47). Starting October 4, 2021, Rehal will be available to support university community members facing bullying and harassment, as well as supporting the ongoing implementation of GP-47 at ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV.

Rehal joins the university with a masters in counselling from ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV and a background in working with marginalized children, youth and adults from various ethnic groups. She is an advocate for women's rights and uses anti-oppressive, trauma-informed and person-centered approaches to support individuals. Some of her experiences include working as a counsellor, academic advisor and mental health initiatives consultant at various universities across B.C.

Please stay tuned for further updates about the development of the Bullying & Harassment Central Hub as we continue to work towards our goal of ensuring that ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV is a more welcoming and inclusive place to work, study and live—for everyone.
