Current Research: Containers for Healing
Tamara’s research starts by using arts based research to address the the broad question of how evil can be conceptualized in a way that enables a healing response. It continues with a qualitative research study at Kwikwexwehlp Aboriginal Healing Village, a minimum security prison run by Correctional Services Canada in partnership with Sta’alis Nation. Her study investigates and describes how the staff there create and maintain healing and transformative relationships within the correctional system and how the two systems - that of Correctional Services Canada and Indigenous healing - work together there. She is particularly interested in how art and metaphor elucidate the process of healing.
