Dr. Robert Hogg
WARREN GILL AWARD WINNER, 2019
Dr. Hogg is an internationally renowned HIV researcher, scientific leader, educator and mentor to many of Canada's experts in HIV. He has dedicated his career to working with BC clinicians, community organizations and people living with HIV to find ways to overcome barriers to accessing treatment and to initiate approaches to prevent HIV. Highlights of collaborations and projects
The Canadian HIV Observational Cohort (CANOC) Collaborative Research Centre focuses on HIV health services and epidemiologic cohort research. This collaboration of national researchers and select databases establishes policy-relevant studies in HIV therapeutics, population, and public health.
The HAART Observational Medical Evaluation and Research (HOMER) study is a retrospective cohort of HIV-positive individuals receiving HAART in British Columbia. HOMER collaborates with other HIV cohorts on both a national and international scale to answer more complex HIV-specific research questions.
The Momentum Health Study is a sexual health study of gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men in Greater Vancouver. Momentum aims to report new estimates of HIV prevalence among men who have sex with men (MSM) in the region. The study supported by grants from the National Institute of Health and the Canadian Institute for Health Research.
