Biography
Sophie is a volcanologist interested in the eruptive products of subglacial volcanic systems. Her current research focuses on the mineraloid palagonite and involves investigating both the physical and mineralogical changes associated with palagonite alteration. Her field work is centered on Cracked Mountain in the Mount Meager Volcanic Complex. Prior to her masters Sophie worked on cinder cone volcanism in the southern Cascades for her undergraduate thesis at Middlebury College.
