Biography

Initiation and evolution of the Brenot Creek landslide in northeastern British Columbia

The geological setting of the Peace Region in northeastern British Columbia, both bedrock and glacial, creates conditions that have resulted in numerous landslides. Research will explore the Brenot Creek landslide with a focus on three topics: the geological history (specifically the Quaternary (glacial) history), initiation of movement and associated triggers, and evolution of deformation. The interrelation between these topics will be explored to better understand the failure kinematics and the role of the local sedimentology and geological history. The research will have applications to other landslides in the area to help manage infrastructure impacted by current or future landslides.
