Date Stamp Component
The date stamp component is used to insert the date onto the page.
It can include a time, and be formatted in a variety of ways. Note that it will display a gray rounded square symbol, shown below, until you double-click it to open up the in-component editing window and decide what format it will be.
When should you use it?
Use the Date Stamp component whenever you need to leave the date (and/or time) that an article was published, or a page updated.
The date stamp has options for display set manually or dynamically (in the Date From field).
The 'Manual' option isn't tied to publication/activation: it is set manually by the author and does not change (unless authors manually change it).
The 'Dynamic' option displays the page's last modification date.
Once one of these options is chosen from the Date From field, a tab will appear beside 'Basic' for Manual or Dynamic options.
In-Component Editing Options
The date component has a drop-down menu for choosing format, and a CSS class field.
Choose Manual or Dynamic display from the Date From field, set the format of the day and time with the Date Pattern field, set text to prepend to the date in the Prepend Text field, and alter the way it displays as text in the CSS class field.
