The Audience Navigation Bar
The audience navigation bar is an optional set of links that you can use to present audience-specific content on your site. This feature allows you to add content that needs to be easily accessible, but is not aimed at the primary audience of your site — i.e., if your primary audience is students, use the audience navigation bar to present a link to faculty- and staff-related content.
Modifying the Audience Navigation Bar
An empty List component is included in the audience navigation bar by default. You can add links to the List component via Inherited Content mode.
To access Inherited Content mode, click on the page tab in the Sidekick then click on the "Edit Inherited Content" mode link.
While in Inhertied Content mode, you can access the List component. Add pages using the "Fixed List" option and the "Links" display type.
You can add as many audience-specific links as you like, but keep in mind that the horizontal area is limited.
Hiding Links in the Horizontal Navigation Bar
Links added to the audience navigation bar should not be repeated in the horizontal navigation bar. If you want to include a top-level link in your site, but don't want it to appear within the horizontal navigation bar, this can be set within the "Navigation Options" of the page's Page Properties. Expand the "Navigation Options" of the Basic tab and select the "Hide in Horizontal Navigation" checkbox. The page will now appear in all other contexts (audience navigation bar, List component, Carousel component, etc.) but will not show up in the horizontal navigation bar.
