Scope notes
- Liaison and Cooperation (General)
- Use for records relating to liaison and cooperation in general but which do not fall under any other primary in this subject heading. Note that the secondaries "Policy, Procedures, Standards," "General," "Planning," "Reports and Statistics," "Special Projects," and "Reference and Information Files" can also be attached to any other primary if needed. See How to Use the Model Classification Plan for more details regarding generic secondaries.
- Associations
- Use for records relating to departmental participation in associations. If the department is designated the secretariat of the Association, keep separate the official records of the Association from the department's copies of correspondence with it. Because associations are not part of the university, their records can only be transferred to the University Records Centre if there is a formal agreement to donate between the association and the Archives.
- Circulars and Directives
- Use for wide-circulation memoranda and reports received by the department for information purposes only (i.e. no action is required). These records are scheduled under RRSDA 2001-004.
- Governments
- Use for general correspondence with and other records relating to governments and government agencies. If a more specific classification category applies, use the more specific - e.g. correspondence with a provincial Ministry about financial assistance programs would be better filed with the other records relating to that program under Student Services and Records - Financial Assistance.
- 間眅埶AV
- Use for general correspondence and other records relating to other university departments and campus groups. If a more specific classification category applies, use the more specific - e.g. correspondence with the Archives about Freedom of Information access requests would be better filed under Records and Information - Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
- Other External Organizations
- Use for general correspondence with and other records relating to other external organizations. If a more specific classification category applies, use the more specific - e.g. correspondence with the media relating to a department event would be better filed under Communications - Public Relations.
- Other Universities
- Use for general correspondence and other records relating to other universities. If a more specific classification category applies, use the more specific - e.g. correspondence with UBC about a particular student would be better filed with the other records relating to that student under Student Services and Records - Student Files.
- Travel and Visits
- Use for records relating to arrangments for travel by department members or visits to the department.
