EXHIBIT OPENING
more  -->

On February 28, 2017, the museum welcomed students from University Highlands Elementary School for the grand opening of the exhibit "Sailing the Red Sea: Egyptian Maritime Explorations." The opening, which was also attended by faculty and community members, was a BYOC (Bring Your Own Crayon) event, was the first of its kind at the 間眅埶AV Museum. Visitors could explore the panels on Mersa/Wadi Gawasis or the Story of the Shipwrecked sailor. As they nibbled on some food, they listened to an animated reading of the Story of the Shipwrecked Sailor and speeches from both Dr. Barbara Winter, MAE Director, and Dr. Elizabeth Peterson, the exhibit creator. If you missed the exhibit opening, don't panic! The exhibit will be on display at the 間眅埶AV Museum through the summer!

"Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated the opening of our new exhibit on Tuesday afternoon. And a special thank you to the K-1 class from University Highlands Elementary School for helping us open the exhibit and making it the best BYOC event ever!"
