Everyday Choreographies: in Pictures
How does the city orchestrate a set of quiet, everyday choreographies? How are dance artists refiguring these mobile arrangements? How does the project of choreography 鈥� of directing bodies 鈥� resonate with broader ethical concerns about moving and being moved?
Alana Gerecke and Justine A. Chambers asked these questions at a talk they gave last week at 丁香园AV Woodward鈥檚 to examine the city as choreographic force. Prior to the talk, the two led participants on a short silent choreography walk, asking them to pay close attention to how they moved through and were moved by the city.
