Dr. Javdani is a labour economist/applied econometrician with varied research interests that include economics of gender, economics of immigration and minorities, economics of education, and personnel economics. More recently, he has also been interested in examining different aspects of the economics discipline, including views among economists and economics students, and the role of ideological bias in shaping these views. He is currently involved in a related large-scale research project in collaboration with from the University of Cambridge and funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
Dr. Javdani’s wide research interests and his movement across different topics are mainly driven by his continuous curiosity to examine questions that he finds interesting and important. However, a main identifiable theme in his work is studying and challenging mechanisms and processes that hinder plurality and produce inequality, injustice, exclusion, and marginalization.
