Friends of Simon Tutoring Program
Friends of Simon recruits, prepares, and assigns university students as literacy and numeracy tutors in the Lower Mainland, particularly with newcomer K-12 students. With our cooperating sites, Friends of Simon works to increase school success through after-school programs in small group and individualized settings.
Office Assistant:
Office assistants process timesheets, lead tutor reports, reimbursements, and were responsible for site scheduling. They also collect and organize the necessary data.
Lead Tutor:
Lead Tutors initiate contact with the tutoring team, plan the outline of the day, and filled in a lead tutor report at the end of each session.
Tutor:
Tutors develop skills and knowledge through training and experience to support vulnerable school-aged students academically, socially and emotionally. Tutors also develop a sense of belonging on campus and awareness about future professional pathways.
