FASS 121 - STT-Foundations for Academic Learning and Success (2)
Provides students with the foundations for academic learning needed to succeed in a post-secondary environment during the lecture as well as help them develop diverse skills during the tutorial. This course will help in facilitating the establishment of connections with self, the cohort, instructors, the university, and with individual future educational and career aspirations. Students will learn strategies and skills critical to their success, such as different learning techniques, time management strategies, exam preparation, study skills, researching and referencing for academic writing. Two thirds of the course (lectures and assignments) develop the foundations for academic learning while one third of the course (tutorials) develop practical skills. Students will receive support to navigate and access available resources needed to thrive in diverse and dynamic learning environments. Prerequisite: Program approval. Students with credit for FASS 120 may not take this course for further credit.
FASS 201 - FASS Co-op Practicum I (3)
First term of work experience in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Co-operative Education Program. Units for this course do not count towards the units required for an 間眅埶AV degree. Graded as pass/fail (P/F). Prerequisite: Open only to students accepted to the FASS Co-op Program.
FASS 210 - STT-Exploring Language with the Power of Network Science (1)
Our lives are richly intertwined with networks: from social networks, to the Internet, to the micro-structure of our brains. Through programming exercises, students will learn the science behind networks and apply them to problems in modern linguistics, including language networks of bilingual Canadians, language learning, and the network structure of the mental lexicon. Prerequisite: 15 units.
FASS 211 - STT-Data Literacy and the City (1)
Finding, analyzing, and communicating data findings can be three of the most valuable professional and academic skills a student of the City can have. This course is high level overview at the development of these skills. The course focuses on finding and defining problems, and critical reading of data rather than software proficiency or statistical techniques. Math skills are not required. Prerequisite: 15 units.

FASS 302 - FASS Co-op Practicum III (3)
Third term of work experience in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Co-operative Education Program. Units for this course do not count towards the units required for an 間眅埶AV degree. Graded as pass/fail (P/F). Prerequisite: Open only to students accepted to the FASS Co-op Program.
FASS 401 - FASS Co-op Practicum IV (3)
Fourth term of work experience in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Co-operative Education Program. Units for this course do not count towards the units required for an 間眅埶AV degree. Graded as pass/fail (P/F). Prerequisite: Open only to students accepted to the FASS Co-op Program.
FASS 402 - FASS Co-op Practicum V (3)
Fifth term of work experience in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences Co-operative Education Program. Units for this course do not count towards the units required for an 間眅埶AV degree. Graded as pass/fail (P/F). May be repeated for additive credit. Prerequisite: Open only to students accepted to the FASS Co-op Program.
