Earth Sciences
This program provides both part-time and full-time students with the opportunity to understand the fundamentals of Earth Sciences without necessarily specializing in Earth Sciences.
Minimum Grade Requirement
Students enrolled in this certificate program must have a grade of C- or better in all prerequisite and required courses.
Program Requirements
Students complete
Origin and character of minerals, rocks, Earth structure, Earth surface processes and plate tectonic theory. Primarily designed to deliver prereq. information to EASC majors/honours and students pursuing degrees in other Departments and Faculties that require a strong foundational course in Earth Science. Breadth-Science.

As the role of science in society grows, so too does the need for effective science communication. Students will explore why we communicate science, the importance of knowing your audience, and best practices for a range of science communication approaches from traditional media, face to face, to online. Prerequisite: 60 units towards a BSc degree or permission of instructor.
