African Economic Development: Theory and Practice IS 813 (4)
Introduces important patterns of economic development in Africa with an emphasis on the post-colonial period. Basic economic theory, and the practical application of these in African economic development will be explored. We will see how dominant theoretical paradigms influenced the formulation of development policy in Africa and how in turn these led to rethinking development theory. Prerequisite: Enrollment in the MA in International Studies Program.
